Have you ever read a graphic novel? Don’t blush, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about – not graphic in that sense but like a grown-ups’ comic book.  Graphic novels are sometimes called long comic books.  Unlike the traditional comic book however, graphic novels tend to cover a story from start to finish instead of ending with the traditional cliffhanger endings of comic books. In some cases though, a graphic novel is a compilation of several series comics that begin and end a particular story arc.

Graphic novels represent a format, rather than a genre and can cover many topics.
 
• MANGA are Japanese print comics --- the general style being exaggerated eyes and simplified features.
• ANIME is the term for Japanese animated films, often related to Manga.
